Today is the Feast of St John Vianney, patron saint of priests. Please pray for Fr Rodnev, myself, and all priests in a special way today at mass. It is also the 2nd Sunday the church invites us to listen to John 6 and the Bread of Life Discourse of Jesus.

Given recent events, of the national Eucharistic Revival gathering in Indianapolis and now the 5 weeks of John 6 this is a perfect time to accept the invitation to receive Jesus in the Eucharist. We believe at mass that the bread and wine, through the consecrated prayers of the priest become truly the Body and Blood of Jesus. He is fully there. It is a mystery requiring deeper and deeper faith. But it is HIM! And Jesus, through the sacraments, especially, the Eucharist, is the way to salvation in eternal life and healing in this life.

I invite you to invite others to mass. I invite couples who for many reasons cannot come up to receive Jesus on a weekly basis to call the office and set up a meeting with me or one of the priests or deacon to work out whatever life issues are preventing you from coming up at communion time. I invite those in church who are not Catholic or who never received their 1st communion to contact the office and start the process. We need Jesus, and we need to receive him in the Eucharist and these next weeks as we proclaim the bread of life homily of Jesus is a invitation to accept a Eucharistic heart and a conversion of soul.

God Bless,
Fr Gannon

P. Gannon
