This weekend's readings at their core, remind us that God truly has our backs—taking care of us physically, emotionally, and spiritually whenever we trust Him. You can see this pattern all throughout the Bible. Isaiah promises trapped exiles that God will provide for them, Psalm 145 praises His unending mercy, and Paul reassures us that absolutely nothing can cut us off from God’s love. Then, Jesus brings all of this to life in the Gospel by feeding thousands of hungry people with just a tiny lunch of bread and fish. It wasn't just an amazing miracle to fill empty stomachs in the moment; it was a clear preview of Communion and a sign of how deeply He cares for us.

So, what does that mean for us today? First, it’s an invitation to keep our own spiritual tanks full by spending time in prayer, reading Scripture, and receiving Communion. But it doesn't stop there. Once we're filled up, we're meant to pass it on. We are called to live like Jesus did—holding onto what we have with open hands, stepping past our own selfish habits, and generously sharing our time, resources, and love with anyone around us who is hurting or in need.

Peace.
